An Edgbaston allotment site with about 100 tenants, bordered by Nursery,Yateley, Harborne and Kingscote Roads, with the Chad Brook flowing through the middle of it.

The site is leased from the Calthorpe Estate by Birmingham City Council. The Main Gate is on Nursery Road opposite Chad Valley School. Interest in Allotments has fluctuated over the years, during the two World Wars and immediately after there was great interest, in the office of MacPhersons, the dealer of electrical goods in Clarence Road there is an aerial photograph of the area showing that this site was immaculate, clean plots, straight rows of vegetables and hardly a weed in sight, it was probably taken in the mid 70s. The site slipped some time after that , and some plots became derelict, however great strides have been made in recent years, most plots are taken and are cultivated to a high standard.

There is a good mix of young and mature tenants from ten different countries. There is an Harborne Hill Allotment Association with an elected Committee, there is a Management Agreement with Birmingham City Council, over recent years the Association has had to take on more responsibility for the running of the site plus they want the allotments to pay for themselves. There are regular Committee Meetings with published Minutes plus an Annual General Meeting.
